Membrane separation technology is a kind of separation technology widely used in the separation, concentration and purification in liquid or gas medium.The wall of membrane used for liquid separation is densely covered with extremely fine pores. When the feed passes through one side of the membrane under pressure, the solvents and low molecular solutes pass through the membrane walls to become the permeate, and the larger molecular solutes are rejected by the membrane, thereby achieving the purpose of separation or purification. Membrane technology is an advanced separation technology with many advantages such as high separation accuracy, high selectivity, no phase change in the operation at room temperature, low energy consumption, high degree of automation and low pollution, etc.

Microfiltration (MF) is a filtration process in which impurities such as micron and submicron fine suspensions, microorganism, microparticles, bacteria, yeast, cell, colloid and latex are separated by microporous membranes. The effective separation range of microfiltration is from 0.1 micron to 5 micron, and based on three filtration principles: sieving, filter cake filtration, and depth filtration.

1) Sieving: particles which larger than or comparable to the membrane pore size are intercepted by microporous membrane, also known as mechanical retention.

2) Adsorption: particles are physically adsorbed by the microporous membranes.

3) Bridging: particles accumulated on the surface of the membrane made other particles fail to pass through the pores of membrane, thereby causing retention.

The serialized hollow fiber microfiltration products mainly prepared by polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and polyether sulfone(PES) realize the precise control of the pore size range from 0.1 micron to 0.65 micron, which can perfectly adapt to different service conditions and liquid phase environment. For example, MBR system, ultra-low pressure water purifier, biological pharmacy, bacteria recovery, food and beverage clarification, Chinese medicine liquid phase clarification, wine clarification and other fields.

Ultrafiltration (UF) is a process in which the ultrafiltration membrane with a pore diameter of 0.001-0.1 micron is used to filter the solution containing macromolecules or fine particles under the pressure difference, so as to separate macromolecules or fine particles from the solution. There is a high removal rate for suspension, solid, colloid, macromolecular substances and bacteria in water, and a partial removal rate for BOD and COD.

The mechanism of ultrafiltration membrane is sieving, which is between microfiltration and nanofiltration. The ultrafiltration membrane has a small pore size and can almost reject all bacteria, endotoxin, viruses, colloidal particles, proteins and macromolecular organics in the solution.

The serialized hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane products use polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and polyether sulfone (PES) as the main raw materials, achieving the precise control of pore size in range of  3000 Daltons to 500000 Daltons, which can perfectly adapt to different separation system. For example, municipal water plants, industrial boiler water, industrial water reuse system, sewage advance treatment and zero-discharge system, concentration and separation in biological pharmaceutical industry, drug purification, enzyme concentration, protein concentration and purification and other fields.
